Broadly, the Role of LMA is to prepare Statement of Adjustment in an impartial manner to the parties to a contract of insurance, or contract of carriage; determination of liability based on established laws, conventions, practices and legal precedents; quantification of loss payable; and fair recommendation of settlement / recoveries under the marine policies.
